Joining the OERxDomains21 Discord Server

  1. Find your Discord Invite Link. This will have been emailed to you before the conference. If you can't locate this, please email helpdesk@alt.ac.uk and we will send you a new link!
  2. Enter your new username (i.e. what people will call you in Discord). From there you may be asked to confirm your age.
  3. Claim your account by entering an email address and password. We recommend using a gmail account so you can avoid university email filters.
  4. Confirm your email address by clicking the confirmation link that was sent to your inbox. (This email will come from noreply@discord.com.)
  5. Login with your email and password.

Discord Channels

Use Discord for all conversations before, after, and in-between OERxDomains21 sessions! Q&A for the Domains21 track will also happen here as well. Please note that you won't be able to type in all channels, as some spaces are meant to be announcement-only areas.

#help-desk: Have a question? Let us know here! Conference Staff will be watching this channel carefully & will be able to assist you quickly.
#guidelines: Conference guidelines and Code of Conduct.
#introductions: Feel free to introduce yourself & let other conference participants know why you're attending.

#hallway-chats: Some of the most valuable conversations at conferences tend to happen around the coffee table or in the hallways between presentations. Use this space to say hello to your neighbor about anything and everything!
#hashtag: A live sync of the #OERxDomains21 hashtag on Twitter.
#domains21: Q&A for all sessions in the Domains21 track.
Voice Channels: These allow you to speak and listen to others as opposed to typing. Open Spaces sessions will also take place here.
